01 / LOCAL MAINTENANCE & CARE
Separate hardware faults from control-system faults
Describe whether the door fails to close mechanically, fails to latch or behaves differently when the access-control system operates. Give the relevant contacts for both systems. The diagnosis may require coordination; replacing a mechanical part without understanding the interface can leave the original issue unresolved.
02 / LOCAL MAINTENANCE & CARE
Context for the Shoreditch maintenance visit
If fire doors form part of an office or commercial fit-out, identify who controls the design information. Explain appearance, glazing and access-control requirements together. A desired finish does not establish that an existing doorset can be retained or that proposed hardware is compatible.
03 / LOCAL MAINTENANCE & CARE
A record of the actual work
Ask for the work at your Shoreditch property to be identified against the original door references. The record should distinguish completed maintenance, items requiring further information and openings not accessed. Where our LPS 1197 scope applies, this concerns inspection, maintenance and repair of hinged and pivoted timber fire doorsets under term contracts; it is not a blanket certification of the building.
